Richard is thrilled to be making his SDMT directing debut. Recent directing credits include Evita for PVPA, The World Goes Round for Reprise 2.0, and Violet at the Actor’s Co-Op, (LA Stage Alliance Ovation award for Best Direction of a Musical). Other L.A. theatre credits include West Side Story, Rent and Floyd Collins at La Mirada Theatre (Ovation Awards for Direction and Outstanding Musical for Floyd Collins), 110 In The Shade at The Actor’s Co-op (Ovation Award for Outstanding Musical), Having It All at the Laguna Playhouse, and Avenue Q (Ovation nomination for Best Musical). Richard is currently working on the development of several original musicals including A Very Brady Musical (with the original series creator Lloyd Schwartz), Rocket Science, and The Mollyhouse. He recently directed the short musical film INTO LIGHT (L.A. Independent Shorts award for Best First-Time Director) and was the on-set theatrical coordinator for the multiple Emmy award-winning HBO series Big Little Lies, directing all of the Avenue Q theatre sequences. He is the recipient of the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Career Achievement Award for Directing, and is a member of SDC.
