ACADEMY KIDS ASK…
Ever wonder how Broadway performers and working professionals achieved all their success, or what advice they would give to young aspiring performers?
So do our Academy Kids!
Check out our special video segments where kids & teens from SDMT Academy have the rare, exclusive opportunity to sit down one on one with some of the best in the biz an ask them the hard pressing questions they’re wanting to know!
You’ll be delighted and humored to see what they come up with and shocked to hear the industry professionals answers!
Our Academy College Prep class will provide an overview on preparing for audition-based college degree programs. We’ll help you select appropriate audition material, advise you on your audition performance and package, plus help guide you and your family through the complex, sometimes overwhelming audition/interview process.
Although college-level training is not required to be a professional actor, take a look at a Broadway Playbill and you will see college training credits in most actors’ bios. Nearly every musical theater performer has graduated college or spent at least a few years in a college program.
Being thoroughly prepared and confident that you are presenting yourself at your best will give you an edge over the other audition applicants!

TESTIMONIALS ABOUT THE PROGRAM
“What a refreshing, welcome educational opportunity for all young performers to receive professional mentorship and training in their desired field! SDMT has already led the field in setting an example of giving back to the community and reminding all that there is a greater stage than just the ones they are performing on. They now continue to lead the field by creating new avenues for young performers to receive experienced leadership.”
– Jennifer Zelles (Parent of student)
“What an awesome experience for these young performers. A few of my students attended and they had nothing but positive things to say about all aspects of this program. Well done, SDMT!”
– Chrissy Burns (Theatre professional)
“It was an amazing experience for our daughter. She can’t wait to attend next year’s camp! Thank you so much!”
