Announcing SDMT Academy Summer Camps!
SDMT Academy is thrilled to announce our summer schedule, with something for every age and every interest! Beginning with our Musical Theatre Explorer Camps for our younger performers ages 5-8, students will get to explore the music and movement of Frozen the Musical and The Lion King. For our 9-17 year olds, our first camp of the summer is an exciting Page to Stage production, Musical Theatre Mash Up. Anything goes in this camp, where the students pick their favorite musical theatre songs of all time, and work together to create a fun script that will entertain and delight their family and friends! Next up, our talented troubadours will dive into highlights from SpongeBob the Musical in our exciting Spongebob Squarepants- The Secret Formula camp! Finally, our summer camp participants will have the opportunity to hone their skills in Prep With The Pros, where we bring in industry professionals to work side by side with our aspiring performers. These pros will give valuable insight and input to help our artists grow. All camps will culminate in a performance for family and friends!
AGES: 9-17 years
SHOW: Musical Theatre Mash Up
DESCRIPTION: What’s your favorite musical theatre song, ever? Let’s get creative with your fellow campers, and produce a unique musical theater experience that you design! We will make magic together by picking your favorite songs and collaborating with your fellow artists to craft a one of a kind, never before seen script. This camp will culminate in a musical theatre performance for family and friends on the SDMT Stage!
CLASS: Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm
PERFORMANCE: Friday, June 30 at 1pm
COST: $600 (includes SDMT Academy T-shirt)
Sibling Discount: Each additional child 50% off full price.
CANCELLATIONS: Refunds will be allowed until May 31, but will be subject to a $25 administration fee. After May 31, no refunds will be processed but account credit will remain on file for a future Academy class, camp or production fee.

SHOW: SpongeBob SquarePants- The Secret Formula
DESCRIPTION: Get your pineapple house in order, it’s time to go under the sea for this fun and fantastic deep dive into SpongeBob’s world! Instructors will guide our campers through a merry musical theatre experience. This camp will culminate in a musical theatre performance of highlights from SpongeBob the Musical for family and friends on the SDMT Stage!

DESCRIPTION: In our first Musical Theatre Explorer Camp, our students will explore the power of bravery and love through music, dance and songs from the hit musical Frozen. Disney’s classic The Lion King is the focus of our last Explorer’s Camp with a fun introduction to puppetry, song and dance as our students tame their inner animals. Both camps will culminate in a musical theatre performance for family and friends on the SDMT Stage!
CLASS: Monday through Friday, 9am-1pm

CAMP: Prep With the Pros
DESCRIPTION: This two-week intensive is aimed at honing your audition skills and prep to take you to the next level! We will bring in industry professionals to work side by side with our developing performers. Over the course, campers will experience training in Acting, Movement and Dance, Improvisation, Audition Technique, Building Your Audition Book, Vocal Work, and more. This camp will culminate in a showcase for family, friends and industry professionals on the SDMT Stage! *This course is for students with existing knowledge and experience in the performing arts. It is not intended for beginning students. If you have a question about whether this course is appropriate for your student, please contact the Academy.
CLASS: Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm
SHOWCASE: Friday, July 28 at 1pm
COST: $800 (this camp includes a new professional headshot as part of the course)
